Meet the New York Team Behind Cold Harbour Heating and Air New York

Cold Harbour Heating and Air New York has been running since 2003, and the crew we’ve built reflects that. Some of our technicians have been with us for over a decade. Others came from bigger shops and got tired of rushing through six calls a day. They stay because we give them time to do the job right, pay them on skill rather than sales quotas, and back every repair with a written 365-day guarantee. That guarantee means the work has to hold up, which means the people doing it have to know what they’re doing. Here’s who shows up at your door in New York.

Our People

Mike D. – Lead Technician, AC Repair & Diagnostics

Mike has been turning wrenches in New York’s five boroughs for 18 years, the last 11 of them at Cold Harbour. He’s EPA-certified for refrigerant handling and is the guy we send when another company has already taken two stabs at a repair and the system still isn’t cooling. Mike will tell you that most “unfixable” AC problems are just misdiagnosed. He specializes in inverter systems and variable-speed compressors, which a lot of residential techs won’t touch. When he’s not on a rooftop in Queens, he’s rebuilding a 1978 Honda CB750 in pieces in his garage. He claims the motorcycle is almost done. It’s been almost done since 2019.

Elena R. – Service Coordinator, New York Dispatch

Elena is the first voice you hear when you call (934) 465-5501. She has been with Cold Harbour for seven years, and she knows the New York service map the way cab drivers used to know the grid: which bridge to take at 3pm, which neighborhoods to batch on the same day, and which jobs genuinely need a tech there within the hour. Elena keeps the written schedule honest. If she tells you a technician is coming between 1 and 3, that window is real, not a guess. She speaks English and Spanish, keeps a running log of every building’s weird access quirks, and has memorized the lunch order of half the crew. She does not deliver the lunch. She just knows it.

Sam T. – Senior Installer, AC Installation & Furnace Replacement

Sam runs our install crews on full system replacements, and he’s been doing it for 15 years. He’s trained on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York, Daikin, Bryant, and American Standard, and he’s the one who fixes other companies’ install mistakes. That happens more than you’d think in New York, where space is tight and a lot of closets were never meant to hold modern air handlers. Sam is meticulous about measurements, and he writes his own material list before every job. Before HVAC, he framed houses in upstate New York, which explains why his duct transitions look like they were drawn with a ruler. He’s also the crew’s unofficial coffee critic, and he will not apologize for it.

Danny W. – Apprentice Technician

Danny joined Cold Harbour two years ago after finishing trade school in the Bronx. He’s in the middle of his HVAC apprenticeship and rides with Mike or Sam most days, but he’s already running simple diagnostics and replacing capacitors, contactors, and igniters on his own under supervision. Danny grew up in a prewar building that lost heat every winter, so furnace repair isn’t abstract to him. That is a big part of why he got into the trade. He passes every background check, wears the same uniform as everyone else, and if he’s on your job, you’ll notice he’s the one taking notes on his phone. He has failed exactly one repair in two years, and the written guarantee covered it. He took it personally.

One Standard, Every Job

The thing that keeps this crew together is the same thing we’ve had since Victor Mancini started Cold Harbour in 2003: the work is done to a written standard, or it isn’t done. The Kingswell Way has five values that every technician here follows, whether it is their first week or their fifteenth year: say the price before the work, show up in the window given, leave the place cleaner than found, put the guarantee in writing, and come back if it fails. No verbal promises. Every repair gets a written 365-Day Done Right Promise, and if that repair fails within the year, we return and correct it at no charge. Every technician’s work gets checked back to that standard. That’s what makes the team feel like a team in the first place.

So when you call (934) 465-5501, you get Elena on the line, a written price before any work begins, and a technician like Mike, Sam, or Danny at your door who has the training, the background check, and the time to do the job properly. You’ll know exactly who’s walking in, exactly what you’re paying, and exactly what happens if something isn’t right: we come back. In writing. Done.
